Who is a Certified Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC)?
The simple answer is we are the experts where disability and employment meet because of our advanced, graduate level understanding of the various aspects of disability and how they may affect a person’s ability to obtain and sustain competitive employment. In addition, we are experts in the laws related to education and employment after high school. If a Rehabilitation Counselor has also met the standards to be certified by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) they are considered a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC). To receive designation as a Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) a professional must have a Master’s level education and training and coursework specific to the rehabilitation of individuals with disabilities. In addition, they must pass a rigorous certification test, adhere to the CRCC Code of Ethics, and maintain their knowledge through continuous professional development. At Bloom Consulting, we have 2 Certified Rehabilitation Counselors, Dr. James Williams, our COO, and Bruce Bloom, M.Ed., our Founder and CEO. They are both considered experts where disability and employment meet due to their specialized knowledge and ability to evaluate and serve adults with disabilities in their achievement of their post-secondary employment, education, and independent living goals.
