Sex Education Classes for Individuals with Disabilities
Our classes focus on helping individuals better understand their own bodies and the following important areas of sexual health:
- Sexual Development
- Sexual Health
- Abuse Prevention & Reporting
- Expected Social Behavior
- Internet Safety & Dating
Our classes are offered at four different levels based on age and topics discussed:
- 3rd – 5th grade – 1-hour health and your body intro class
- 5th – 8th grade – 4 week class @ 45 minutes for each class
- 9th – 12th grade – 4-week class @ 45 minutes for each class
- 18+ Students – 4 week class @ 45 minutes for each class
Our classes are taught by:
A special educator and administrator with over 20 years of experience teaching sex education and health classes in various setting including both private and small group classes. She has worked in both the public and private sectors of disability services and special education and has taught numerous courses on health and sex education to individuals with disabilities at various ages. She has a Master’s Degree in Education and has been through extensive training on sexuality, abuse prevention, self-advocacy, and disability health.
